What to Look for When You Visit
Every school has classrooms, teachers, books, and tests. Here are some things that make a morning at ECS feel different.
The day starts with singing.
At 9:00, students gather for Matins and we say the Apostles’ Creed, sing a psalm or hymn, and pray for the day. Come early and sing along.
Kids who look you in the eye.
Kindergarteners sound off their phonograms at full volume. Middle schoolers learn to argue well, and politely. Seniors pick a thesis that’s worth defending, not one that’s easy.
Kids who make things right.
When students wrong each other (and they will), they learn to ask forgiveness, to give it, and to follow through to real reconciliation, the way Jesus taught in Matthew 18. Keeping short accounts makes for real friendships.
Plenty of laughter.
Our motto is Risus est bellum, “Laughter is war.” We don’t laugh because nothing is wrong. We laugh because God is sovereign, and we would rather meet hard things with joy than with worry. You’ll hear it at recess and in logic class.
One story, not twelve subjects.
Scripture isn’t a devotional bolted on before math. History, literature, science, and math are taught as parts of one story, with Christ at the center.
Four days on campus.
Classes meet Monday through Thursday, 9:00 to 3:00. Friday is a school-at-home day, which gives families a weekly day together.

Often it starts with a sense that school is teaching your kids things you spend your evenings undoing. At ECS, teachers and parents are aiming at the same target.
From homeschooling
You’ve done good, hard work at home, and several of our teachers homeschooled their own kids before joining ECS. Families often come to us for the high school years, for a choir or a team, or for help carrying the load. And you still keep a day at home each week.
From another Christian school
You wanted more than a Bible class and a chapel service added to a standard curriculum. Here Scripture is at the center of every subject, and the culture of the school grows out of it.

So Why “Classical”?
Classical education is an old method that works with the way children grow instead of against it. It moves in three stages.
GRAMMAR · K–6
Little kids love to memorize.
So we give them great things to memorize: songs, chants, phonograms, math facts, history timelines, and Scripture.
LOGIC · 7–8
Middle schoolers love to argue.
So we teach them to argue well: formal logic, spotting bad arguments (starting with their own), and disagreeing with conviction and humility.
RHETORIC · 9–12
High schoolers want to be heard.
So we train them to write and speak with clarity and grace, and to give a reason for the hope they have.

Beyond the Classroom
- Athletics for grades 7–12: boys’ soccer, girls’ volleyball, cross country, track, and golf
- Choir, a school play each year, and school dances
- Dual credit through Comeford College, new for 2026–27
- The Raggant Fiction Festival, hosted since 2015
- K–12 on one campus, so siblings spend the day together
- Serving Snohomish County families since 2012
- 2026–27 tuition: $6,731 for kindergarten and $8,414 for grades 1–12, with sibling discounts. Financial aid is available through FACTS.

What Now?
- Send us a note. It takes two minutes to fill out the form below. Mrs. Bone will reply within two school days to answer your questions and/or get a tour scheduled.
- Visit on a school morning. Tours typically run Monday through Thursday. Arrive by 9:00 to catch Matins, then walk through classrooms from kindergarten to high school.
- Sit down with Mr. Sarr. Ask anything: curriculum, schedule, tuition, uniforms, fit. About an hour, start to finish.
- Decide at your own pace. If ECS looks like a fit, we’ll walk you through the application. Applications for 2026–27 remain open.
