Track

Who: boys and girls, 8th grade and high school grades (9th -12th).  

When: See practice schedule 

What: Track is a shorter distance than XC in all events. It will require generally more muscular builds designed for medium and short races. Due to technical training requirements, equipment and facilities, we will not be offering any field events. Please look up our school at www.athletic.net and type “evangel” in the search bar. The events our team will participate in will be: 

  • 3200m 
  • 1600m 
  • 800m 
  • 400m 
  • 200m 
  • 100m 
  • 4x400m 
  • 4x100m  

Why: We are good at running and running is good for you. In track, records are striven for, comradery is enjoyed, momentum is developed, road trips are inevitable, fat gets trimmed, muscles grow, grit and energy is harnessed, friends are made, attitudes are built, God is honored.  

  • $100 sports fee (due 2 weeks after season start) 
  • Sports physical (due prior to first practice, good for 2 years) 
  • Signed a Raggant Conduct form and Academic Expectations form 
  • 7 practices required prior to first contest/game 
  • Equipment:  Running shoes 

How: how? Seriously? How to run?? Uh… well it’s a lot like walking except you sort of hop forward in between steps.

  • Mondays: 3:15-4:45pm  
  • Tuesday: 3:15-4:45pm  
  • Wednesday: 3:15-4:45pm  
  • Thursday: 6:30-7:45am  
  • Friday: 3:15-4:45 (for the first 2 weeks, then OYO as needed)  
  • Saturday: OYO   
  • Sunday: Rest
